One of the problems children could face is difficulty in reading or pronouncing words. They could again ask their parent or adults for the same and could learn the right pronunciation or the next best thing for them to learn the right pronunciation could be through a search engine This would mean they would need to move their attention from the application.
Here the application could be used to solve their difficulties and help keep their attention on the application.
Solution
We could provide them with a button when clicked and the system could use phonetics to help children pronounce those words. Jane could also speak out the words to help children how the words should sound.
Pro's
- Children will learn how to pronounce the word, the right way, as at-time the parents/adults could also be wrong about the pronunciation.
- Increases the children's interaction with the system.
- It Saves parents/adults and children's time, the children also won't have to switch to a different application to search for anything.
- They gain a level of confidence as they would not have to ask their parents/adults for help.
Con's
- Children need to know how to use the feature, preferably a showcase feature embedded into the application.
- A list of all the difficult-to-pronounce words should be set before hand and this feature should only be available for those words.
- Additional time and effort will be required to complete the feature.
