Problem Statement
  1. We do not take into consideration the external factors affecting the experience.
  2. Jane isn't able to recognize these issues and communicate the same to the User.
  3. We're not sure whether the guide given in the workbook gets addressed to the users.
  4. We find users still tend to complete the worksheet in an incorrect way which leads to difficulty in the detection.
Lighting issues (Dark shadows)

UX - The user should know what good and bad lighting conditions for the app look like. Dark lighting causes detection issues so the user must use the app in a well-lit space.

Surfaces

UX - The user should orient and position the worksheet correctly else it causes detection issues.

Placement of sheets

UX - The user should orient and position the worksheet correctly else it causes detection issues.

Hands covering the sheet

UX - The user must move any object or their hands away from the sensor, which may cause hindrance while detecting the sheets.

Objective

To make users aware of the factors affecting experience.

Solution
  1. An in-app guide for users to refer to, whenever they need it while using the whole experience.
  2. The experience is simple and intuitive.
Features - Introduction to the new button
  1. The new button introduced would be the 'Setting' Button on the main screen at the top right corner.
  2. The less frequently used component would be placed in Setting Button.
  3. Tapping on the setting button, the user can access the following options/buttons
    1. Music
    2. Best Practices & Activity Guide
    3. Close
Best Practices & Activity Guide
  1. By tapping on the best practices tab, the user will be able to go through all the best practices. They can swipe to see the Best Practices Guideline.
  2. Tapping on the activity guide tab, the user will be able to go through all the guides for each template. They can swipe to see the guidelines for each template.
  3. The guide has two parts:
    1. The first part addresses the external factors affecting the experience with help of photographs.
    2. The second part is the worksheet guide which shows the right ways to solve the worksheet for each template.
Things to Note
  1. CV is to be put on hold when the setting button is tapped on.
  2. CV can resume once the user closes the setting, and is taken back to the main screen.
  3. The term “handwriting” in the handwriting template is to be changed to “writing”.
  4. The writing tab would only be for Grade 2 & 3. You can remove Writing tab from the rest of the grades.
  5. When no worksheet is detected, clicking on the setting button, the default tab would be best practices (lighting).
  6. When the worksheet is detected, clicking on the setting button, the default tab would be the activity guide tab. (according to the template we show the guideline).
  7. Under the activity guide, the guideline displayed should be the one that the user is solving at the time. e.g if the user is solving the tick template then on tapping the Setting panel, under the activity guide the guideline displayed would be tick template.
  8. In case the user is solving the template which is not mentioned in the activity guide then the guideline displayed would be the first tab by default, which is tick template.
  9. Make sure we add Alt tags in case the images don't load for best practices.
  10. Alt tags
  11. Lighting - Good Lighting, Bad Lighting.
  12. Placement of sheets - Correct Placement, Incorrect Placement.
  13. Surfaces - Plain Levelled Surface, Uneven Surface.
  14. Hand Covering the sheet - Correct, Incorrect.
  15. A scenario wherein the user switches the tabs then it must continue from the current screen of a guide rather than the start.
